70A Student Video Clip Design Competition (Secondary School)

Submission of video

Submission period:

Between 8 and 11 October 2019 (Tuesday to Friday) From 9:00 am to 12:30pm and 2:00pm to 5:00 pm

Details for submission:

1.        Each team should submit the following items:

Ø  a video clip of not more than 5 minutes. The video clip should be in avi, mp4, mpeg, mpg, mov, wmv, pps or ppsx format. The resolution of the video clip shall be in standard definition 720 x 576 or high definition 1920 x 1080.

Ø  Each video clip should be supplemented with a description (either Chinese or English) of not more than 300 words to introduce the theme, main ideas and students’ reflections.

Ø  The name of the school, team number and names of students must be clearly stated in the video and the description.

Ø  Submission form (see Annex 1).

2.        The video clip and the file of the description should be stored in DVD / USB drive for submission. They WOULD NOT be returned after the competition.

3.        The DVD / USB drive, file of the description and the submission form (see Annex 1) should be kept inside an envelope for submission.

4.        All submission MUST reach the above address no later than 5 p.m. on 11 October 2019. Late submission WOULD NOT be entertained. If schools are going to submit by postage, please allow sufficient mailing time and ensure that sufficient postage has been paid.

Theme

Students should produce their short video clips to introduce one development item and/or achievement of our country in the past seventy years. Examples include advancement in innovative technology (e.g. aerospace technology, transportation, smart city, environmental conservation, and medical and health), conservation and management of cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), as well as strategies and planning for combating natural disasters (e.g. flooding, drought, earthquake and sandstorm).

Students can adopt creative ways such as acting as tour guide or KOL, producing drama or animation, etc., to introduce and promote one development item and/or achievement of our country. Students should also demonstrate how they can participate in and contribute to the development of our country.

Details

  • Each video clip should be produced and completed by a team of 3 students from any level. Each student can join only one team and each school can nominate a maximum of 4 teams to join the Competition.
  • The length of the video clip should not exceed 5 minutes and subtitles (either Chinese or English) should be provided.
  • The video clip may include texts (in Chinese or English), graphics or cross-media creation.
  • Each video clip should be supplemented with a description (either Chinese or English) of not more than 300 words to introduce the theme, main ideas and students’ reflections.

Application

Interested school should complete the Reply Slip enclosed in the Education Bureau Circular Memorandum No. 69/2019.
